Mitt Romney wants us to “beat” the Taliban in Afghanistan in order to withdraw droops and the end the war? It costs us $50 million per Taliban death. $50 million. As long as we’re in Afghanistan, the Taliban rebuilds its numbers. Ever heard of valleyism?
So, really, we should stay in Afghanistan and spew out money forever because that’s what “beating” the Taliban entails.

I cannot help thinking of the 100 years war. England won battle after battle in France, they killed soldiers in unprecedented numbers and in 114 years, or there abouts, they left France to the French (more or less).
I don’t think we need to repeat the 100 years war project, 90 more years is not going to make them like us, or make them run their country our way.
Killing Afghans is not going to make them like us.
